At Home Hair Removal: E-Pen Electrolysis
E-pen electrolysis is a new way to safely remove hair by killing the hair follicle through the use of mild electricity and a salt and water solution that converts to sodium hydroxide which kills the hair root and papilla. E-pen electrolysis is also a cordless electrolysis pen so that it is easier to maneuver around the face and harder to reach places for hair removal. It is also safer and causes less scarring those traditional electrolysis methods that require multiple treatments with a needle that is inserted into the hair follicle, which can cause scarring especially in women who have darker skin tones.
Types of Hair Removal
For years, the traditional methods of hair removal were either by shaving, plucking or waxing. All of these methods require that the woman does these activities, if not every day, every few days and at least every week, depending on the darkness of the hair and the thickness of it. Hair follicles do not all produce hair at the same time, so there are periods that the hair follicle is dormant for eight to ten weeks before producing another hair.
Shaving is quick and easy, but is not a good method to use especially in the facial region since it merely takes off the top of the hair, which stimulates growth, causing it to produce coarser hair that is more unsightly and more difficult to remove. Since E-pen electrolysis kills the hair follicle, this is not a problem, and although there are multiple treatments that will be required to get all of the hair follicles over time, once all of them are killed, then there will never again be a problem with unwanted hair growth in various regions of the body.
E-pen electrolysis is also much less painful than waxing, which can cause a rash on the skin when finished due to the heat of the wax and the pulling of the wax from the skin to remove the hair. In addition, the hair has to grown long enough for the wax to grip it, whereas E-pen electrolysis only requires that the hair show enough to know where it is so that the hair follicle can be killed. In addition, although waxing lasts longer than shaving and does cause the hair growth to thin out rather than to thicken, the hair does still grow back, requiring waxing for the rest of the woman's life. E-pen electrolysis treatment puts an end to hair removal for a woman, not matter where the hair is removed.
