A process of removing hair in which heat or chemicals are used to destroy the hair follicle.

Below, you will find extensive information on leading Professional Electrolysis Machine articles and products to help you on your way to success.

A Look At Professional Electrolysis Machines

Electrolysis hair removal machines come in two varieties. Firstly, there is the home electrolysis machine that requires you to perform the treatment yourself. Then there is the professional electrolysis machine, where treatment is performed at a spa, clinic or beauty salon. In this article, we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of professional electrolysis machines.

Advantages of Professional Electrolysis Machines

Professional electrolysis machines work by inserting needles into the hair follicles, killing the hair. Unlike home electrolysis kits, which contain a single needle, they use multiple needles, and a much higher voltage (9 volts, as opposed to the low voltages in the home kits) allowing treatment to be completed in a much shorter time. Nowadays, professional electrolysis machines are usually computerized, allowing commonly treated areas of the face and body to be pre-programmed into the machine, thus automating the process and speeding it up even further. They typically offer a choice between the three main types (or "modalities) of electrolysis, namely galvanic, thermolysis and blend modes, whereas home kits tend to only offer one of the three options.

There is also the "pamper factor" to consider. When you perform electrolysis on yourself, you are doing all the work, whereas when you have it done professionally, you are being taken care of by fully trained staff, allowing you to relax and not worry about whether you are doing everything correctly. Accidents are far less likely, whereas home electrolysis treatments can cause burning and reddening of the skin if performed wrong.

Disadvantages of Professional Electrolysis Machines

The main disadvantage of having your hair removed using a professional electrolysis machine is the cost. When you buy a home electrolysis kit, you only have to buy the equipment once, though there may be subsequent payments for consumables such as the conductivity gel and the pads that attach the electrodes to your body. When you have the same treatment using a professional electrolysis machine, you are renting the equipment, not buying it, and each session has to be paid for individually. This can sometimes result in customers racking up bills totaling thousands of dollars if the treatment takes a long time to complete.

However, the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. Having your hair removed by electrolysis may be expensive, but many people consider it well worth the cost because of the greater standard of care and the elimination of the worries that come with the do it yourself approach.
